Gunsan is the proud historical site of the first anti-Japanese independence movement south of the Han River on March 5, four days after the March 5 independence movement took place at Seoul Pagoda Park in 1919 during the Japanese colonial period.
The Gunsan Uprising Hall was established to inform the stories of the history and places of protest against the Japanese colonial rule and the independence activists.
Gunsan was the place where the first national independence movement south of the Han River took place, and protests and independence movements took place in other regions. The Gunsan Uprising Hall is the pride of the uprising in the history of Gunsan, and the pride of the citizens of Gunsan.
